Meet the Coaches

Coach Tracy Wilcox

Coach Tracy Wilcox

Founder of Inner Shift Academy | Certified Pickleball & Mental Fitness Coach

Tracy Wilcox was first introduced to pickleball in 2018 by her lifelong friend and senior pro, Kara Williams. What started as a fun way to satisfy her competitive spirit quickly turned into a full-blown passion. With over 20 years of coaching youth sports at both recreational and club levels, Tracy naturally transitioned into coaching pickleball—and hasn’t looked back since.

When a shift in her husband Dave’s career opened the door to something new, the two of them, alongside business partner Ben Sample, took a leap of faith. Together, they launched two pickleball-focused businesses rooted in their shared love of sport and community. Today, they proudly own and operate facilities in Santa Barbara, California and Harker Heights, Texas.

But Tracy’s coaching journey didn’t stop at physical skill. On the court, she began to notice how deeply the mental and emotional game showed up for players—including herself. Her own struggles with self-doubt and frustration sparked a deeper curiosity, eventually leading her to Positive Intelligence®—a mental fitness framework that helped her make powerful inner shifts in real-time.

After experiencing her own transformation, Tracy felt called to help other women do the same. That passion became Inner Shift Academy—a space where players can grow not only as athletes, but as whole, confident, resilient women.

Tracy is a certified coach, trained by some of the best in the game. Over the past five years, she has honed her expertise through high-level coaching, curriculum design, video analysis, and leading women’s coaching pods, clinics, academies, and private sessions. Her unique approach blends competitive strategy with mindset mastery—helping players elevate their game from the inside out.

Coach Kelly Mada

Coach Kelly Mada

Kelly is a California native, born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. She comes from a family with an extreme passion for sports, which involves participation, coaching, playing a sporting event competition during holiday events, and watching televised sport.

Kelly grew up playing softball, basketball, soccer, running, cycling and triathlons. Kelly was introduced to Pickleball in 2019 by some good friends. They gave me a paddle (which at the time was made of thin fiberglass I believe), and she hasn’t left the court since.  Kelly has participated in numerous Tournaments all over the US. She has been on the podium several times with either Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medals.  Kelly continues to train and learn from Professional Pickleball coaches as this game is evolving quickly. Kelly is a certified PPR Coach and works in her local community to spread the knowledge she has learned from those before me.  Kelly is also a local Joola Factory Representative and hosts corporate events.

Kelly believes that through teaching and remaining open minded “you can achieve anything you want”.  It goes beyond medals! Pickleball has changed her life. Kelly says she will continue to play for as long as she can and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with you!
