Foundation Sessions

The Heights Athletic Club Foundation Series are six distinct classes with topics ranging from The Basics to Stroke Formation. You may take a class multiple times if you would like to focus, or you might take each class once with the Foundations Pack. You would have 6 classes, use them how you like!

Class Topics:

  • Pickleball Foundations: STROKE FORMATION focuses on developing proper technique for essential shots, including the forehand, backhand, and volley. Players will learn key mechanics, grip adjustments, and body positioning to build consistency and control in their game.
  • Pickleball Foundations: THE BASICS introduces players to the fundamental rules, court positioning, and essential shots of the game. This class is perfect for beginners looking to build a strong foundation and gain confidence on the court.
  • Pickleball Foundations: SERVE AND RETURN teaches players how to develop a consistent serve and an effective return to start each point with confidence. Focus areas include proper technique, placement, and strategies to gain an early advantage in the rally.
  • Pickleball Foundations: FOOTWORK helps players develop agility, balance, and efficient movement to improve their court coverage. Participants will learn key footwork patterns, positioning strategies, and drills to enhance speed and control during play.
  • Pickleball Foundations: BLOCKING AND RESET focuses on controlling the pace of the game by absorbing power and transitioning from defense to offense. Players will practice soft hands, paddle positioning, and reset techniques to neutralize fast shots and regain control of the point.
  • Pickleball Foundations: BEAT THE BANGERS teaches players how to turn defensive situations into offensive opportunities with quick, strategic responses. Emphasis is placed on reading opponents’ shots, timing aggressive counters, and executing fast, controlled volleys to regain control of the rally.
Open Play is a casual format of pickleball play. You and the other players stack paddles and when a court opens, the next four paddles in line are up! It’s great for meeting new people and getting court time! We offer Open Play numerous times throughout the week!
Coached play in pickleball provides beginners with real-game experience while receiving live feedback from experienced coaches, helping them quickly build confidence and improve their skills. This guided practice ensures players learn proper techniques, strategy, and court positioning in a fun and supportive environment.
